Short description of the organization (max 12 lines): Astrakhan State University (ASU) was founded in 1932. Now it is known as one of the largest multi-purpose educational institutions in the Caspian Sea region.
Astrakhan State University has old traditions of academic activity and it is one of the most rapidly developing universities in Russia. Many scientists of the University are widely known not only in Russia, but also abroad thanks to their significant contribution to various spheres of science. ASU is classical university which carries out research activities and student's training in the majority of fields of modern science including physics and mathematics, information and communication technologies, social and economic sciences and humanities, jurisprudence, history, biology, food, agriculture and fisheries, biotechnology, environment and security, nanosciences etc.
Expertise offered Our research group has experience of developing optical and electronic systems and optical and devices based on these systems for efficient functioning of control systems of insect behavior. While developing the above biocybernetic systems mathematical model is generated, describing the transmission of optical electromagnetic emission to the sensor systems of flying insects. It is accompanied by generating the analytical formulas to express such energy and information characteristics of the channel, transmitting such optical information to insects as signal and noise, and function “signal/noise ratio”. Taking into account these formulas the research of dependence of information and energy channel characteristics for optical information transmission to the insects on the parameters of biocybernetic system is carried out and efficient parameters making the value of functions “signal/noise ratio” maximal are chosen. For example, such methods can be applied to the development of mechanical complex for obtaining feed supply for the pond fish farms by catching and processing locusts for it. The above mentioned mechanical complex consists of the following elements:
  • 1) Optical and electronic hub to concentrate locust population during the flight
  • 2) Autonomous energy set on the basis of a heliostation
  • 3) Electric shocker
  • 4) Chipping machine
  • 5) Infra-red drying unit for the protein mass
  • 6) Accumulator tank.
Taking into consideration great demand for cheap feed source for growing fries and standard size fish (including sturgeon) on pond fish farms and almost unlimited population of locusts (raw material for feed mass) this project is a great attraction of investments and characterized by high economical efficiency.
