Short description of the organization (max 12 lines): The Institute of Petroleum Chemistry Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences was founded in 1970. Based on the results of the basic investigations carried out at the Institute the scientific fundamentals of the more effective methods for the analysis of complex mixtures, advanced technologies for hydrocarbon refining, physico-chemical bases of creation of new materials and technologies for their application to solve the environmental problems are being developed. The methods of metal nano powders synthesis and investigation of their properties are developed as well. High-current electron beam initiation of chemical reactions of gaseous or liquid hydrocarbons leads to their dimerization. Fullerenes were obtained by electron beam exposure of the mixtures above. The selective oxidation of some olefins has been carried out in the barrier-discharge plasma. Copper and aluminum nano powders were obtained and their physico-chemical properties have been investigated.
