Main directions of our scientific activity are 1) study of diseases with natural nidulity (vertebrate hosts of infections, arthropod vectors and peculiarities of the diseases circulation in the Region); 2) study of fine morphology of parasitic organisms (mainly flies, ticks and mites); 3) study of morphological, physiological and biochemical adaptations of some animals to parasitism; 4) research of historical development of parasitism in different groups of animals; 5) study of the fauna and ecology of small mammals and their role in infections; 6) study of ungulate animals and their role as reservoirs for different infections; 7) study of Regional ornithofauna , bird parasites and the role of birds in zoonotic diseases circulation. In addition, the Division of Zoology and Parasitology comprises the Zoological Museum of Voronezh State University, the Center of Ecological Monitoring, Control and Forecasting of Epizootological Conditions in Voronezh Oblast, and the Laboratory of Zoonotic and Parasitic Diseases.
